Strolling in Shoreditch

I’m a West London girl, born and raised. I do love the area solely because that’s where my family and friends reside, if I had a choice though I would shift Gurps, our belongings and myself to East London. Every time we drive within a radius around Shoreditch I can’t help but feel like I’m on holiday regardless of the weather. The creativity, people and atmosphere are so uplifting. I feel so inspired when visiting Shoreditch and always imagine what it would feel like to live on the doorstep of London’s creative hub.
I know we are moving into our own apartment soon but we kept the location close to family for now.
This past week if you follow me on Instagram you would already know we visited the Electric Cinema in Shoreditch. Gurpreet is a series fanatic and has been watching Entourage recently, so seeing as the movie was showing for a limited time we decided to go and check out the viewing experience of Electric Cinema.
The verdict? Absolutely loved it, we dined before seeing the movie and really enjoyed tasty basics – avocado and eggs for me, cheese and ham melty for Gurps! Sometimes its best not to complicate life and keep it simple!
The cinema was decked out with velvet sofas, cashmere blankets and a mini bar, a great experience and I’d deffo recommend a visit! As the weather has been an absolute gem in London lately I whipped out my cropped shirt with a midi skirt combo. Pastel colours I find compliment my skin tone well so its an option I roll with regularly. With the amazing street art and Shoreditch as our backdrop we decided to snap away then enjoy the movie once sun down came.
I hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend wherever you may be and remember if you haven’t tried something new in a while, don’t wait for it, go out there and experience as much as you can, whether you like it or not its always worth the effort.

Summer flowers

I’m a flowers in the hair kind of girl, I salvaged these off an Alice band Gurps trod on and broke a couple of years ago! As I leave the house most mornings between 6:30 – 6:45am it’s difficult for me to dress for the day. Most days it’s cold at 6ish then heats up by afternoon. This trench has been my Spring to Summer saviour. Don’t get me wrong it’s not the warmest thing, but acts as an easy layer to wear and can be folded down conveniently when I’m sunning my skin in the city.
As always I am drawn to styles that compliment my figure, this off-shoulder cropped top from H&M is my summer 15 shape! I have purchased this style top in plenty of colours/variations. You will definitely see it pop up on the blog over summer :)

The Roman Forum

I’ll start this post off topic a little, for those who are in London; wow wee! The sunshine has been so beautiful lately our days are longer, I’m feeling a million times more productive than usual and a lot more motivated to make the most of the summertime.
Gurpreet and I are currently in the process of packing up our belongings by the end of the month to move into our very own apartment. (Currently living with in-laws) I cannot express how excited I am for this! As a result holidays are on hold till we get settled.
No harm in looking back on our adventures from this year though! This next post was one we shot after visiting the Coliseum, we opted out for having a guided tour as the queues for tickets were not as long as everyone made them out to be, instead we purchased the audio guide. I can’t fault it, it explained everything very well and we left feeling a little more knowledgeable in the Roman history department.
One thing we didn’t realise at the time was our ticket for the Coliseum entrance also covered entrance to the Roman Forum, a large area directly opposite the coliseum with ruins, gardens and plenty more artefacts linked to Roman history.
Well worth the visit and beautiful to walk around in for the afternoon.
One pointer I can give you is when visiting Rome I highly recommend wearing comfortable shoes, there is an insane amount of walking to be done!

Summer Blues

The little white dress is summers answer to the classic LBD. I absolutely love off-shoulder styles this season; they are so cute and easy to wear.
I found this gem in Primark whilst picking up last minute things for Morocco. Don’t fret about the sheerness white is usually associated with; it is lined around the hips to avoid any indecent exposure!
Teamed with this gorgeous vibrant Erdem scarf for a pop of colour I was set to enjoy a day in the sun. I stacked on as many bracelets and bangles as possible, you know me ;) I do love my gold!
Today I’m taking some time out to focus on creating new artwork and furniture shopping for our new apartment, very exciting times ahead!
