Palm tree shadows

This is one of my last posts from our trip to Spain, we were heading out to a dim sum restaurant when I spotted the beautiful palm shadows falling on the white walls, I’m forever riding shotgun next to Gurps so I always have the privilege of staring out the window like a 3 year old strapped up in a car seat does.
The heat out there and abandonment of my straighteners gave my curls a much needed lease of life, the break from styling with artificial heat has helped them to stay together. (hurrah!) Although I’m not sure if it’s just me, but holidays are really for letting go. I love keeping things as natural as possible with my hair and skin. Less stressing about how I look and more stressing over what turning the satnav is telling us to go!

Feelin' tropical

Now it’s been a minute since I wrote a few things on here, I have been happily putting together the images but didn’t feel the buzz to write anything to back them up. There has definitely been a gap in my blogging regime which was mainly due to this not being my only career path.
The past couple of posts have been shot in Spain, we took a week out from our 9-5’s to go relax and enjoy the sunshine. This shoot wasn’t planned but it was after a long day sightseeing (hence the sweaty face and fluffy hair) we decided to follow the billboards to a butterfly park. This butterfly sanctuary was paradise, by far one of my most favourite places ever. I was using my video recorder during this trip so be sure to come back to see what we saw inside, it definitely will not disappoint.

Animal instincts

When driving towards Nerja on the south coast of Spain I caught a glimpse of street art along the motorway; like any city Malaga has its fair share of graffiti, but this piece definitely stood out.
It just so happened I was in a leo print dress; I have warned you about my animal print obsession (here) excuse the beach hair, we were not planning on shooting; but this art was too amazing to pass by.

Floral Kimono

A white crochet dress is a summer staple, it compliments sun kissed skin, can be accessorised with virtually anything and worn day or night. I added a pop of colour with this beautiful floral kimono from M&Co. I love the oriental and botanical prints out this season but the odd colour combinations used commonly put me off. This one on the other hand ticks a couple of boxes for me;
1) The colour palette on this exotic print is executed well and orange is one of my favourite summer colours, it highlights Asian skin tones and sun tans.
2) Relaxed fit for ease, off the shoulder is usually how I style it.
3) Can be folded into a teeny tiny clutch to keep at hand once the suns down (massive bonus for me as I’m always cold!)

Costa del Sol

Mijas is a stunning town on the coastline of Spain, beautiful streets, plenty of culture and breathtaking scenery. A little heads up for you, the locals take siesta seriously, kitchens open at 7pm; we learnt the hard way! Non-the less walking around and soaking up the chilled out atmosphere was definitely a highlight. You know that feeling of no technology, no phone, no Internet, no real contact with the outside world? That’s how it felt in Mijas, the most idyllic place to sit, kick back and watch the world go by while you collect your thoughts.

Prints and patterns

The perfect setting for a summer vacation; sun kissed colours in a quaint Spanish village; patterned tiles and white walls adorned with floral vines. I’ll keep this post short and sweet; I’m top to toe in Primark. Done!
