Pink Paradise

When I set my eyes on this pink paradise I was mesmerised, the walls, marble chevron floor, velvet marshmallow curved couches, gold accents, illustrated walls and quirky cutlery had me in a trance! Its rather magical inside Sketch London’s Gallery room and definitely takes you away from the real world for an afternoon.
I knew we were in for a visual delight when booking a slot for afternoon tea so why waste an opportunity to dress up!? ; ) I went all out and rocked pastel pink and mauve head to toe, I felt a little like a Malibu Stacy doll but loved it. A figure hugging skirt with an overhanging cropped top helps balance out the silhouette, this House of CB skirt is my absolute favourite, it definitely hugs in all the right places!
I mixed my metals in this outfit, the cropped top has a heavy silver diamante neckline which is a beautiful design statement, but you know me and my love for stacking right!? I teamed it with my Ottoman Hand gems which are all set in gold, I personally think the contrast works well and it’s always good to experiment with colours, you would be surprised what combinations work better and pull an outfit together.

So for those of you who are not familiar with afternoon tea, I’ll try and break it down. I actually have a fond experience of afternoon/high tea from a good 5 years ago, I was with my family in one of London’s prestigious department stores, after Christmas shopping we were feeling a little parched and went to the top floor to maybe sit down have a tea or muffin, after seeing a price tag of £45 + per person we quickly exited. £45 for TEA?! Can you take it home, plant it into your flower bed and grow a money tree afterwards?! Why was it so expensive?!
I now know it’s not a single mug of tea served, it is actually a meal, well sort of. Afternoon tea is a selection of sandwiches, cakes and pastries, fruits and tea. A real mixture of little nibbles, but believe me when I say it fills you up!!! It is actually hard to finish everything served and you end up leaving the experience with a well-rounded food baby.
It is one of those once in a blue moon experiences as you don’t go for afternoon tea that often (it’s a crazy sugar rush so I wouldn’t recommend that much cake regularly!)
Sketch London definitely topped my lists of venues for afternoon tea, I couldn’t fault it, also the cocktails OULALA! Very very tasty!
I would love to hear from you if you recommend anywhere else in London for afternoon tea!

Colour co-ords

How to not feel all alone in a city you know no one in? Go to a park full of locals, tourists, children and dog walkers, sit on the bench and soak up the atmosphere. You are sure to catch a smile and meet some friendly folk to mingle with. Or put a shout out on Instagram, the locals are very proud of their city and are more than happy to show you around/ recommend a few things you could do when visiting.
This was one of the busiest walkways we came across in Lisbon, situated just outside the Myraid by Sana hotel; it was buzzing under the Winter sun.
We were actually making our way to the marina to see the boats, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to pose on these colourful benches!
I have held on to my love for co-ordinates from 2014 (previously worn here) and found this cute ensemble to wear; the loose fit trousers with matching boat print shell top. The ease of wearing such a relaxed outfit made traveling a joy and I felt so comfortable, which was perfect as we were out and about for nearly 12 hours! I am in the middle of putting together a post of exactly what we did in Lisbon with bits and bobs I would recommend for you to see. Stay tuned ☺

Camel and khaki

Camel and khaki create the perfect pallet of earthy neutrals. This waterfall camel coat is luxuriously soft and very warm, allowing me to avoid layering up too much – big bonus as I usually end up wearing 3 layers when it starts to get chilly! I teamed it with a basic shape midi dress, I love midi’s like this because you can dress them up easily or wear with minimal accessories – a very versatile garment and can be worn in all seasons.
At the moment I am currently dog sitting, sorting through my art work and finalising things to do in Lisbon, outside my window it’s just started to snow in London and I’m loving it. (I’m sure I will take that back if it is still snowing on Monday morning) but for now, I’m ready to kick back, relax and enjoy a weekend doing everything I love.

R-r-r-r-r-rioo!

R-r-r-r-r-riooooooooooo, closer to London than ever before! The mastermind creatives at Kate Spade NY teamed up with Nikki Tibbles of Wild at Heart for a Rio de Janeiro themed window display that won the Chelsea in Bloom Gold Award for retailers in the neighborhood of the annual show. (Rightfully so!)
With the Chelsea flower show just around the corner from the store, blooms were in full swing, it was lovely seeing happy shoppers with their exotic purchases and extravagant greenery.
I love the mix Kate Spade offers, beautifully crafted pieces injected with a child-like creativity with the most professional execution; So many beautiful vibrant patterns, details and quirky designs.
The display definitely got me in the mood for summer, slight wanderlust kicking in; next trip? Yes please!
