Being the sun-child I am we made the most of every sunset in Lisbon. On a trip to Belem tower the winter sun was reflecting over the Tagus River shining beautifully onto the tower. Built in 1515 as a fortress to guard the entrance to Lisbon's harbor, the Belem Tower was the starting point for many of the voyages of discovery. The stonework was intricate with plenty of history behind each sculpture and motif.
At a stone throw away the PadrĂ£o dos Descobrimentos stands tall, a monument that celebrates the Portuguese Age of Exploration during the 15th and 16th centuries. Lead by Henry the Navigator the statues of 32 other historical figures linked to Portugal’s discoveries stand either side of the ramps.
With so much history and charm behind these two sights I would definitely recommend a trip to Belem.
In all honesty I have just discovered the joy of city breaks, I used to only ever travel to hot countries, where my ‘to do’ list would be; tan, sleep, tan some more, sleep some more.
I’m starting to grow very fond of little Europe trips, with so much history and plenty to do; it’s hard not to love.

Camel and khaki
Camel and khaki create the perfect pallet of earthy neutrals. This waterfall camel coat is luxuriously soft and very warm, allowing me to avoid layering up too much – big bonus as I usually end up wearing 3 layers when it starts to get chilly! I teamed it with a basic shape midi dress, I love midi’s like this because you can dress them up easily or wear with minimal accessories – a very versatile garment and can be worn in all seasons.
At the moment I am currently dog sitting, sorting through my art work and finalising things to do in Lisbon, outside my window it’s just started to snow in London and I’m loving it. (I’m sure I will take that back if it is still snowing on Monday morning) but for now, I’m ready to kick back, relax and enjoy a weekend doing everything I love.

Brownie Time
Crisp Autumn days are the best, clear skies, sun shining and the opportunity to layer up and get cosy. Obviously if you don’t layer up enough you end up kicking yourself and if you over layer you end up stripping, it’s that ying-yang balance right? If you manage to find a blanket like coat then you are on to a winner. I picked this coat up last year in Marks & Spencer from the Limited Edition collection and there’s no chance of me getting rid of it any time soon. It is the equivalent of walking around with a fur duvet wrapped around you. The fur is definitely a great insulator and sure does keep you warm when you’re out and about.
Walking around Notting Hill before my cooking class at Recipease I stopped off for a hot chocolate and brownie. I have a huge soft spot for chocolate brownies, time of day does not affect my decision; If it’s on the menu, I’m having it!
